In the late 1800s, Woodstock was just a small depot village along the railroad from Atlanta to Marietta. That bent toward healthcare was one of the reasons the Cherokee Atomedic Hospital, touted as “The Hospital of the Future,” was moved here after the World’s Fair in 1969.

There are a ton of RV and tent camping spots, and marinas and public ramps make getting your boat on the water an easy affair. Experience the rush of a monster truck demolition derby or the thrill of a race at Dixie Speedway.

At Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater, you can attend an incredible summer concert series that has been running for over two decades. Every winter, downtown Woodstock dazzles with the festive cheer of the Christmas Jubilee & Parade of Lights. Grab a cup of hot cocoa and watch the festive parade wind through these historic streets.
